Advisory Supports for Industry-Academia Collaborative Research and Social Implementation

 

Overview

TI-FRIS is a program that that will foster world-class researchers with interdisciplinarity, internationality, and sociability. To strengthen the TI-FRIS Fellows' ability to work with society to translate their research outcomes into social applications (Sociability), the advisor will provide individual advice to TI-FRIS Fellows on any questions or concerns they may have when conducting industry-academia collaborative research with companies (Advisory Supports for Industry-Academia Collaborative Research) or when implementing their research results in society (Advisory Supports for Social Implementation).

 

Advisor

The advisor is Prof. Shigeyoshi Yoshida of MaSC, Tohoku Univ., who has a wealth of experience in materials research and development and industry-academia collaboration. Depending on the nature of the consultation, we may ask other experts for advice as needed.

Guidelines for Individual Supports

■ Support Contents
  • - The advisor will provide individual advice to TI-FRIS Fellows on any questions or concerns they may have when conducting industry-academia collaborative research with companies or when implementing their research results in society.
  • - The TI-FRIS coordinators (Fujiwara and Suzuki) will be the point of contact for the TI-FRIS Fellows and will relay the information to the advisor.
  • - In principle, a meeting between a TI-FRIS Fellow and the advisor will last no more than one hour and will be conducted online, with the TI-FRIS Fellow providing the means (such as a Zoom meeting).
  • - After the meeting, the coordinators will receive reports from the TI-FRIS Fellows and the advisor, which will be used to summarize the overall activities of the TI-FRIS program and to improve the support system.
